Open Studio Night at the Healing Forest Studio is a dedicated time every week for students who have completed their foundational studies to progess as artists as they continue to grow artistically and transition to independent study.  Open Studio sessions are similar to our higher level painting classes where the majority of class time is spent working on personal paintings and projects.  All Open Studio sessions are overseen by our studio founder, Lori Slocomb, who provides one-on-one instruction and mentorship during the sessions and she leads critiques at the end of every session.  Students who wish to further themselves outside of the studio in between sessions can be assigned homework and other projects if desired.

Structured Class Curriculum

Because some of our advanced painting classes (Painting II, III, IV & V) are not offered on the schedule as often as our beginner level classes, these classes will be offered to individuals and small groups during the Open Studio sessions.  Please contact the studio prior to reserving your easel if you're planning to use the Open Studio sessions to complete a six-week course so that Lori can prepare properly and order any necessary supplies.  These sessions are an opportunity to complete coursework at a slower pace if you're not able to register or commit to a six-week scheduled class.

Make-Up Class Opportunity

Open Studio sessions are the default options for making up any missed classes if you're currently regsitered in a six-week class.  We try to make our structured six-week classes as flexible as possible, so students can make-up any missed classes at no charge for up to two sessions per six-week class.

Open Studio is priced at $25 per 2 hour session.  Students are responsible for purchasing their own art supplies, and if given a week's notice, we can order any supplies for you to buy at the studio.  Just Contact Us.
